If 10 to 15% of us are left-handed, why is it a much low percentage of golfer’s actually play the game left-handed? Set out below are the two main reasons:

• For many left-handed golfers it quite natural to play right-handed; (to decide the right way for you, look down a ball and visualize yourself swinging a golf club and the ball leaving your feet and going to target; this will give a good indication as to which side of the ball you should naturally be standing on).
  
• Availability of left-handed golf equipment; (the left-hander new to the game makes do with what he or she can find).
